Around Oakland, specialty shops usually take walk-ins for quick jobs and appointments for rebuilds and installations. Window tint laws differ across California and its neighbors, so a reputable tint shop will tell you the legal darkness for each window. For transmission work, ask whether the shop rebuilds in house or installs a remanufactured unit and what warranty comes with each, then compare with the listing's rating and reviews.

Oakland is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Oakland is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I took my car in because I had a maintenance light come on and I knew I needed an oil change as well as a a headlamp. He replaced my oil with synthetic without asking charging $72 for the oil, $35 for the for a filter. The total bill was $389.47. I will need to spend with caution this month as a result. I am disabled and my 06 Toyota 4Runner is kept in excellent condition. The ridiculous overcharges and disrespectful behavior of not asking consent of the customer should be a dire warning to anyone considering coming to this business.

LADIES BEWARE...! Of Robert, the owner-car mechanic who is passive-aggressive, he lacks professional integrity and will pad on extra unexpected unnecessary repairs to increase cost of service. The owner refused to honor his warranty and did not replace the defected transmission that he installed in my car. He held my car for 6 weeks, based on his claim of seeking out a replacement. To no avail and his refusal to refund Me. I'm Off to Alameda County Small Claims Court!

Never take your car here. Robert (lead mechanic) shows he knows little to nothing about imported cars. I brought my 2009 audi A3 here for a fuse box change since my lights were acting funny. The lead mechcanic Robert took 3 weeks to order a damn fuse box because he kept ordering the wrong one. I honestly don't think he knew what he was doing. he also refused my refund. It gets worse. So after finally getting the damn fuse box, he gives my car back now with a check engine light and EPC light on. and my lights were still messed up. I should've known though, the place Is a wreck. broken down cars cover the lot as well as glass from people breaking into those car. just a junky place unorganized mess. don't take your car here. especially if its german
